Sabine and I have talked about going to the Singularity in person. It's possible during the Dimming, it's coming up in a few weeks. She might have a chance to really engage with it there.

I went last year with Stephen, Yennefer, Rhy, and Kell, and we were all fine, so as far as I know, no.

Who else is going with you guys?

I think I was going to ask Kyle, he is well-trusted around here now. Ambrose wouldn't allow just anyone to go with us. I need assistance because I plan to bring back soil samples this time.

Rhy also has a special relationship with the Singularity and his experience was comfortable, from what he told us at the time. It seemed to recognize him.

( Okay, that's... good, actually. That's comforting. He trusts Kyle implicitly, and he likes Rhy. If Lucifer were going he might have more concerns about it, but this group seems... pretty safe. )

You'll look out for her, right?

I don't think I understood any of that outside of pizza and incite a faction war. Please tell me you're joking.

You know, I've only loved two people in my life, but they are both the most exhausting people to ever exist.

Maybe you should do some soul-searching about your relationship decisions. My terrible dead therapist recommended journaling about it, it's kind of helpful?

Oh I've done plenty of soul-searching, it just won't help. I've been in love with Yennefer for sixty some years now, most of that apart.

Wait, really? You and Yennfer?

( This is more surprising than finding out about Istredd and Lucifer, to be honest. )

You really are oblivious, aren't you? Yes, Yennefer and I are childhood sweethearts, although we split up for many decades after a nasty break up. Until we found each other again here.

Well, that sounds... Really awkward, actually. Does she know? How's that working out with the whole... you and Lucifer situation?

I mean, you don't have to tell me, obviously it's none of my business. It just seems like A Lot.

They've given permission for me to follow my heart to both of them.

Or rather, they've jointly agreed not to make me choose.

[ AKA, he's got it all. For better or for worse. ]

It's not really a lot, outside of the fact they're a lot type of people. The situation itself isn't that complicated.

I mean, to be fair, I've loved exactly one person my entire life since I was six years old, so anything more complicated than that is A Lot to me.

( Hence why he's so relationship-oblivious. )

But I'm glad it's working out for you! Congratulations.

Until I met Lucifer that was more or less my situation. She and I met when we were young and she was the only thing I loved for a long time.

The kind of full-time emotional partnership I'm looking for isn't really something Yennefer is interested in, so this works well for all of us. Even if they are exhausting people.

For a second I thought I had follow-up questions, but then I decided maybe I don't actually want to know the answer to any of them, so I'll just stick with: I'm glad you guys found something that works. Sorry you're in love with scary and/or exhausting people.

( By which he means, Yennefer is the scary one. Lucifer is the exhausting one. )
