RELATIONSHIPS

LUCIFER Lucifer is Istredd's life partner and he's deeply in love with him and always will be. They live together in the Nether and often go flying as they both have wings now. Istredd does disapprove of some of Lucifer's mischief and will make it known if he thinks he's gone too far, and he was truly angry with him for a time over an incident with Sabine. Sometimes Lucifer wipes the minds of people who get blessings from Istredd because the knowledge is dangerous and he's not thinking it through. They've been each other's constant for 800 years.

YENNEFER Yennefer is Istredd's other great love and the two of them are still together all these years later. He doesn't really remember how they met as the Brotherhood is long gone. He vaguely understands they were young at the time, so she's the person he's known longest, but the details are no longer available. They've remained close and trust one another without question. He has been very supportive of her close bond with Thancred and Stephen.

KYLE Kyle and Istredd continued their close friendship and trusted bonds well into the centuries that followed. Their theories turned out to be true which gives them an extra layer of connection as they were ahead of the game, which Istredd vaguely remembers as them merely being 'right' about things. Kyle is concerned at times about Istredd giving information to the wrong people and keeps an eye on him. At some point in the time gap, Kyle became lovers with Istredd and Lucifer and they still have that connection when it appeals to them.

KELL Kell and Istredd's parental connection only strengthened to the point where they have forgotten they are not father and son. He looks out for his kid as best as he can and supplies him with loving support. At times Istredd can be a distracted and distant parent, when he's focused on his work above anyone else, but he does keep tabs on Kell and what he's doing in the sphere.

RIVER Istredd's relationship with River deepened into that of a father and daughter. He trained her as best as he could in her psychic abilities and looked out for her like any good parent would. When she struggled with her sanity, he stood firm and still does, waiting for her to come back to him. He has kept her room in the library exactly as she left it and hopes he'll see her again soon.

WILHELM As Lucifer and Wilhelm's strengthened as a father and son, Istredd became more officially his step-father and considered him family without question. He leaves more of the parental side of things to Lucifer, but he is there as a friend and advisor - and teacher, if Wilhelm needs it - as he goes through life.

GERALT While Istredd does not remember their sphere, he does generally know that Geralt and him have an old connection, before most others. When Geralt lost his memory in an incident, Istredd was very concerned about him and created a room in his library filled with the sounds and smells of the temple he used to have in his Horizon. That room remains for his friend now that he has his memories back. They sometimes spend time together just amiably in the same space, not talking.

CASSIAN Istredd and Cassian's relationship became close due to their mutual love and familial bonds with River. Joined by their concern for her, they eventually established their own close connection and consider each other family. When Cassian remakes himself, he is always welcome to come sleep or rest within the room in the library that was designed for his comfort.

Wanda TBD AFTER TALKING TO KIRA. But Istredd's always loved Wanda and considered her a sister so it's very likely not changed.

CASTIEL Istredd may have forgotten that he bonded with Castiel in the Pit, but over time their closeness just was a fact rather than knowing where it came from. He considers him a brother and they are tight. Castiel feels safe coming to the library and into Istredd's space, willing to open up to him more than most as he's in a non-judgment and emotional support space there.

JACK Istredd and Jack have been friends since early day in Thorne, and that friendship was tested when Lucifer made a move on Jack and hurt Sabine in the process. Istredd had kept the secret about Jack's powers, but it spiraled out of his control. Kyle was the first line of defense, and Istredd the second, dragging Lucifer out of the situation. While they all managed to find peace again, Istredd kept feeling a sense of guilt for many years for not being able to stop it from happening at all.

Sabine Sabine is someone that Istredd felt very close to, and Lucifer's attack on her seriously tested the unbreakable bond between the two lovers. Istredd held onto his anger about Sabine far longer than she did, but their friendship never suffered for it. They still see one another regularly and she fills his library with books from around the world.

SHEPARD Shepard and Istredd continued their friendship from the early days of Abraxas and became as close as siblings. She is one of the people who occasionally shows up to scold him for giving out forbidden knowledge too readily, as she is more grounded in reality than he is. But her ire never lasts long with him.

GALE Gale and Istredd found they shared interests in common and after Thorne's fall, they started spending more time together. Istredd was completely oblivious to Gale's rising romantic feelings for him as they chattered over magic and knowledge, until Gale emotionally asked him to pick between him and Lucifer. Istredd was baffled and apologized for reading it so wrong. After some awkwardness, the two resumed their friendship and have been close since.

JASKIER Istredd's deep admiration for Jaskier only continued as the years went on and he spent more time with him. He considers himself one of Jaskier's biggest musical fans and people can often hear Jaskier's music playing in the library as background ambiance. He became closer to the rest of the Witcherfam people in the future.

CIRI Thankfully for Istredd's peace of mind, he eventually managed to make peace with Ciri after his attempts to help Geralt during his memory lapse. While they will probably never be as close as she is with the rest of the Witcherfam, she considers him now as her nerdy uncle who means well.

VIKTOR Viktor and Istredd have something of a polite and distant, but respectful relationship, at least on Istredd's end. Viktor is very good at picking up Istredd's mistakes when he gives the wrong people information, and he scolds him for not paying more attention with his blessings. Istredd requested a list of humans he is concerned about so he can make certain not to answer them.

JILL Istredd and Jill's tight friendship was tested when Jill attacked the Singularity over her pain about being turned divine against her will. He was very grateful toward Kyle and Clive for getting in the way. That caused some friction between the two of them for many years before his anger wore off and his compassion flooded back in, understanding her reasons why. They reconciled and regained their friendship.

Thancred Istredd's trust in Thancred only grew as time went on and they shared many things over the centuries. He knows how important the man is to his beloved Yennefer and would put his (god) life on the line for him.

Cid Cid and Istredd became friends after Cid visited his library in the early days of Abraxas and they bonded over shared interests. As time went on, Cid helped Istredd understand the slightly more advanced machinery he favored, and they chatted about being unexpected father figures for youths. Istredd made Cid his own room in the larger library and they get along very well.

JOHN GREY John and Istredd had always gotten along well but over the years their respectful friendship turned into a deeper one. Istredd opened up to him about his past and their shared affection for Geralt (one romantic, one friendship) also drove them. They have an amiable bond now and often chat over the library or knowledge in the world.

Claire Claire and Istredd always had respect for one another and she ended up loving his upgraded god library. It is one of the few indoor places she frequents with her own room and time spent reading through new additions.

Matt Due to Matt being married to Wanda, Istredd's "sister," Istredd started seeing him as a brother-in-law and friend. Matt's thirst for knowledge led him to research in Istredd's library and the two of them to make a mentor/mentee bond in terms of understanding the world.

DION Dion and Istredd got to know one another over time in Thorne and they hit it off as fellow quiet types. He has been there for Dion through the centuries and let him live at the library as a dragon for a time, and they sometimes go flying together.
