No, it's nothing I've really felt before. But I've never channeled before here, and I do so little of the native magic...Just simple things that anyone can do if they can follow instructions.
[The sort of spells Mat thinks children can easily perform. It's not as though he's ever studied it, or sought spells out on his own. Only sometimes he helps out, and a mage hands him a spell. Why would he bother, when he has his own power? That doesn't involve memorizing anything.]
I do sort of wonder...
[Because he has thought about it. And his life. While most of it was terribly boring and uneventful, the last half a year or so before he'd come here had been anything but. And there's something he thinks might, perhaps, be effecting his abilities.]
Before I was here, I had a little...incident. I was possessed by dark magic, it...got inside me, fed on me, on my strength. For a long time.
