magicalarchaeologist: (annoyed)
Istredd is aware that Kell has struggles around self-esteem and believing that people care about him because of his background. He remembers all too well their conversation where he had to directly share his feelings with Kell through a telempath bond just to convince him he cared for the boy. He's seen him in a paternal way since, something he didn't expect to ever happen to him. Kell changed that.

Istredd takes him seriously, and whatever is troubling him seriously. "It's unlikely they'll send help any time soon, yes." Probably waiting just long enough to punish Nott for basically being itself, which only makes it continue to hate the crown more. A vicious cycle that only truly harms the poor and struggling. "It's good of you to want to fix it." Nott could use people looking out for them.

His eyebrows go up at that and he sets the book aside, leaning forward. "Kell, I know what type of magic you have, and I caution you from putting too much into this. You have allies, we can make this a group effort." Istredd can go with him, not just to pick him up, but to help with his magic. He could probably convince Stephen and Yennefer to take the time to go too.

"I'm not going to have you black out from blood loss when it's not the only option."
